Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery

The course is aimed at the full understanding of the bariatric patient in all of its complexity and dimension. It presents a common core of understanding, debates and adjustments of views between surgeons and the multidisciplinary team, as well as improvement of various surgical techniques, treatment of complications, revision surgeries, bariatric endoscopy and future perspectives in the treatment of morbid obesity.

Objective

It aims to inform and form true multidisciplinary teams and technically prepare members for the management of this patient from the first consultation to their long-term follow-up.

Target Public

The course is designed for physicians with at least 3 years of general surgery residency or 2 years of general surgery residency plus 2 years of digestive tract surgery practice.

Activities DE (Distance Education)

Recorded lectures and guided studies.

Classroom activities

Live surgery transmission with case discussion, hands-on training platforms, live models and supervised observational training.

Structure

The course consists of four modules lasting two weeks once a month. There are ten days of classes in distance learning - from Monday to Wednesday - and two days of hands-on classes - Friday and Saturday. Total course time: 360 hours of class. Course length: 10 months.
